Biography

Garth Olson is a versatile conductor, worship leader, keyboardist, and arranger known for engaging musicians and congregations across a wide range of worship styles and musical contexts. His work brings together musical excellence, thoughtful worship planning, and a deep commitment to helping others participate meaningfully in shared ministry.

Throughout his career, Garth has distinguished himself as an innovative worship and music leader, accomplished pianist, experienced organist, engaging conductor, and collaborative ensemble musician. He has directed and worked with choral, handbell, instrumental, and theatrical ensembles in church, academic, and community settings, and is equally comfortable leading traditional hymnody, contemporary worship music, large-scale seasonal programs, and diverse musical expressions within the life of the church.

With more than 25 years of experience in church music, worship arts, and organizational leadership, Garth has supported congregational life through worship planning, music ministry, volunteer development, and collaboration with clergy, staff, and lay leaders. His work integrates music and worship with the Christian year, Scripture, sermon themes, and the broader life of the church.

Garth’s professional background also includes extensive experience in management and administration, with expertise in human resources, strategic planning, finance, accounting, information technology, and facilities operations gained through his years in law firm administration. This combination of artistic leadership, ministry experience, and organizational expertise has shaped a collaborative and strategic approach to leading staff, volunteers, musicians, and ministries.

Garth holds degrees in music and business, a Certificate in Worship Leadership Studies, and a Master of Arts in Music and Worship. His experience also includes live streaming, worship production, virtual music, and the coordination of vocal and instrumental ensembles in both traditional and contemporary settings.

Born in Hollywood and raised in small-town Minnesota, Garth studied at the University of Wisconsin, St. Stephen’s University, and Liberty University. His life and career have taken him through the Midwest, Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast, providing a broad range of professional, cultural, and ministry experiences. Garth now resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
